America’s Amputee Softball Team

About the Patriots Donate Here About Kids Camp

The USA Patriots, formerly known as the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), is a non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to bring athletic and veteran amputees together to promote the benefits of inclusive sport and therapeutic recreational activities.

America’s Amputee Softball Team travels the country playing able-bodied teams in competitive and exhibition softball games, bringing our unique brand of softball, courage, and inspiration to communities nationwide. The team is comprised of competitive, athletic veterans who have lost limbs in combat and non-combat related injuries. While some are still in the service, others are attending college thanks to the Post-9/11 GI Bill and others have moved on to new careers. These individuals continue to push the limits of modern prosthetics to inspire, motivate and offer a place for camaraderie and healing on and off the field of play and to continue Serving Beyond the Uniform.

Those are the words my husband and I taught our children long before our daughter, born with limb difference, came into our lives. This past week as our 9 year old, Annie Kate, spent a week at the Wounded Warrior softball Camp. The two common threads, of the 20 kids...

“These men have given so much and persevered and still continue to give! They took time from work and their own lives to out in an amazing Kids camp for kids with missing limbs/deficiencies. This is special and what a way for these kids to have relatable teachable moments! Plus – as a parent – I was grateful to add to my list of constantly learning! These kids (and...

“This week has been so rich with prideful moments and life lessons. It is difficult to put into words how the Wounded Warriors Softball Team has changed my family’s life. As sad as we are to leave, I am excited to take this gift we have been given and continue to build bonds with those that have impacted us and to reach out to resources that we didn’t even...
